Kick-Off Highlights
Thank you to all who attended our Kick-Off on Wednesday, August 10. We had just about 100 people at Me & Billy--a packed house! Our musicians told us that it was the first party they played for where the crowd was louder than their music--you were a lively, excited bunch! And with good reason...
At the event, we ignited a conversation about our Strike a Match program, which will pair young professional women with experienced leaders at community events. If you haven't completed the Match questionnaire yet, now is a great time to do it.
We also encouraged everyone at the event to like us on Facebook and give to our cause. Most of all, we asked the crowd gather to help us spread the word about Lead(H)er. So far, we've earned some great press from the event--check it out!
- "Lead(H)er Launches - WVIK
- "New Non-Profit Ready to Fuel Young Professional Women in the Quad Cities" - WQAD
- "Lead(H)er Program Unveiled" - Quad-City Time
A big highlight of the event was a check presentation by Royal Neighbors of America CEO and President, Cynthia Tidwell, who awarded Melissa Pepper with the Nation of Neighbors Award. The $10,000 will go toward ensuring Lead(H)er lights a fire of mentorship opportunities for young professional women here in the Quad Cities.
